Seattle’s often hyped up as a coffee town. It shows up in every rom-com trope, ad campaign, and your distant relatives who vaguely heard of that “whole grunge thing.” And you know what? There’s some truth to it. Between great coffee and a thriving music scene, we could definitely have a worse reputation to uphold. This Saturday, you can have both at the same time.
This week La Marzocco Cafe, located in the KEXP Gathering Space, is hosting San Francisco’s Four Barrel Coffee as their roaster in residence. Throughout the week, Four Barrel has hosted coffee classes, covering everything from espresso preparation to pairing dandelions with chocolate. On Saturday, July 15, it all percolates together with a launch party featuring a performance from Portland indie rock legends Quasi. Not just that but DJ Sean Nelson will be on-site spinning tracks and keeping your caffeine buzz going all night.
Free Cuban sandwiches from Un Bien will be given out while supplies last, so make sure you get there early! (For real, these sandwiches are out of this world.) And if that’s all not enough, there will be complimentary beer and wine as well! Coffee, booze, free food, and Quasi? If you like any of those things, get to La Marzocco at 5 pm this Saturday. In the meantime, revisit Quasi’s most recent in-studio below.
